Informations espèce

Ce triton de taille moyenne se reconnaît aisément à son ventre et sa gorge uniformément orange et, en période nuptiale, aux flancs bleuâtres typiques des mâles. C'est de plus le seul triton présent dans les Écrins. On peut l'observer dans certains lacs de montagne, jusqu'à 2 500 m d'altitude mais aussi en vallée dans des mares, fossés voire même de simples ornières forestières.
